Irish Nechtan

Hopefully this will be an easy question:
I have seen it suggested that the (insular) Irish deity Nechtan is a
cognate of Latin Neptune and Sanskrit (Apam) Napat.
Could anyone provide a bit of help explaining the etymologic
associations here?
