My thanks for that advice, I see it has been discussed without any
significant resolution... and thus I am unlikely to find any
stunning new revelations when researching the Scythian names.

On the other hand, I see that Fethuir and Istaev / Istio / Iscio /
Hiscion have not received much prior attention and so I will remain
hopeful on that end.
Grimm attempts to link Iscio to Askr - and to Askitûn (Ascha near
Amberg), Askiprunno (Eschborn near Frankfort), Askipah (Eschbach,
Eschenbach). Grimm also mentions a spelling of "Isiocon" from
Zeitschrift für deutsches Altertum by Moritz Haupt.
