from Burrows and from Palmer
Skt. 1;2pl middle
primary -mahe; -dhve
secondary -mahi; -dhvam
perfect -mahe; -dhve
Greek id.
-metha, -mestha; -sthe, 2 pl dual -sthon
Hittite
primary -was^ta; -duma
secondary -was^ta; -dumat

presumably from *-me/os-dhwe; *-dhwam

which I mention because of
PIE *dwa:-
Greek de:n acc. "long"
Skt. du:ré loc. "afar"
Hitt. tuwaz "from afar"
Lat. du:-dum

which I thought might have something to do with it, especially
if *-m, *-s, *-t are also deictic in origin?

Any connection to 'thousand'?
