Re: Plural endings in city names, Greek

Indeed, the Lith. suffix -é:nas means, among others, roughly 'an
inhabitant of X' (eg. kálnas 'mountain' > kalné:nas 'mountaineer'). Its
usage in toponymy in the plural form is obvious, IMO ('a concentration
of -ers'). The same pattern is not infrequent in Slavic as well.
