'm deeply interested in reconstruct Pre-Hesiodic Greek theogonies.

I think Ophion and Eurynome was a Pre-Hesiodic primordial couple (mentioned in Argonautica), akin to Sumerian Abzu and Tiamat, and they were doublets of Okeanos (I think it means "serpent", like Ophion) and Te:thys (I think <T(h)a:thu<*Tawatu<Tiamat); of Phorkys (phorkun-) and Ke:to: (ke:to:i), and of Typhon and Ekhidna, and even Erebos and Nyx.
The similarity to Sumerian cosmogony points to a common Eastern Asian origin, or perhaps through some Hurrian-Hatti linking.

Hesiodic Titanomachy is still contraditory to me... Zeus defeated the Titans and kept them in Tartarus.
But...what Titans?
Kronos, of course.
But he wouldn't arrest his own mother, Rheia.
Okeanos and Tethys are described on the borders of the world
Hyperion and Theia, probably arrested, but their children are free: Sun, Moon and Dawn.
Koios and Phoibe, probably arrested, but her daughter Leto was loved by Zeus, and their granddaughter Hekate was very important and respected by Zeus.
Kreios and Eurybia, with their three sons Pallas, Perses and Astraios are more titan-like. Arrested.
Iapetos have all sons defeated, arrested and severely punished: Atlas, sky-bearer, Menoitios, thunderstroken, Prometheus, first allied of Zeus, but later kept, Epimetheus.
Mnemosyne and Themis were Zeus' wives. Free.
So, the role of Zeus' enemies seems to be focused on Kreios and Iapetos offspring.

Any comment?
