No, I can't, and I shouldn't. There are derivatives from the roots
concerned, just not the thematic present structure. Oettinger
analyzes Hitt. kapirt- 'hamster' as *k(o)m-bhe:r-t- 'carrying
together', with which cf. Welsh cymeraf 'I take' (*kom-bher-). I
would also accept that akkala- 'furrow' contains the root of Lat.
ago (Gk. ógmon ágo: 'draw a furrow'). But such isolated etymologies
are hard to make, and many no doubt still remain to be made out.
That said, I think we are basically in agreement: It was the
subjunctivce structure *CeC-e/o- that was abolished. I say the
language community acted hypercorrectly and abolished the same
structure where it had already become a present indicative. I guess
that is also the way Schindler meant it, though this is not decisive
for me.
