And this _peshkatar_ has nothing to do with Italian _pescatore_? That
would be quite a coincidence.

Yes, it is pure coincidence, even they look similar, cf.: lunder-tar 'sailor, boatman, navigator',  pjese-tar 'parricipant', ane-tar 'member' etc.
