Incidentally, all these words are (c) and thus had the ictus on the
last syllable (*-oN) in Common Slavic -- exactly the case where
contraction is least likely:
*nogà (c), *nogojóN
*dus^à (c), *dus^ejóN
*ko``stI (c), *kostIjóN

Analogy on (a) and (b) words?
