*****GK: In Ukrainian, "pryc^ynyty" in that sense ("add" "augment") is
well established by 1370 (Lviv document). Derivative words
("pryc^ynuvaty", "pryc^yniaty" (same sense) are attested in 15th
century legal documents). As for "pryc^yna" it appears both in the
sense of "cause" and "accident" in 14th and 15th century sources. In a
statute of Jagiello it has the
meaning "help" "assistance" "mediation", and this is also the case in
a Slavic document from Moldavia dated 1457. In a document of
1490 "pryc^ynyty" means "to found" (in this case, a church).*****
