I am presenting Ringe's opinions (in his own words) under protest
since I believe it is the duty of those linguists who constantly prate learnedly
about "chance resemblances" to present the case for it � not just hint darkly
about what Ringe has "proved".
I will do this by providing this link:
Before I waste my time critiquing the views Ringe expresses in it, I would
appreciate it if
Andy Howey
would inform me if this is an adequate presentation of Ringe's views (one
version, anyway � he has changed them many times), and let me know if this is
what he had in mind when he forced this on me.
If it is, I will attempt to show why Ringe's views (as expressed in that
interview) should be vehemently opposed.
