There are also some funny palatalisations of Cl-usters in Sicilian,
including the development of VLat. fl- in ciamma 'flame', ciumi 'rivers'
etc., where the <ci-> may be pronounced as a palatal fricative (more or
less like the onset of Eng. hew).
