cannot conclude from Ptolemy that Thermidava was
necessarily in existence in 0 CE. Ptolemy mixes up
data from many centuries up to and including his own
times. Thermidava could very well have been a late
foundation (perhaps even by 'loyalist pro -Roman
Dacians'. And in any case the presence of a single
name is hardly proof of a massive colonization. To
repeat: in Strabo's time the area of Thermidava is
simply not "Dacian". Dacian infiltration could have
BEGUN in the I-II c.CE, that's all.*****
