Hello,
Trying to finalize somehow the Albanian Timeframes I have big
difficulties to can well establish the right rules for h1,h2,h3 for
PAlbanian
(his is a problem that is "above me" at this moment so any help is
wellcome here...)
Currently I have identified the following rules:
IE-Time:
========
1. eh1 > e:
2. eh2 > a:
3. eh3 > o:
4. h1e > e
5. h2e > a
6. h3e > o
10. ih1,ih2,ih3> i:
11. uh1,uh2,uh3> u:
NOTE: this are the 'clear' part...
Dialectal-IE -> ('less obvious' part)
=============
100. h1,h2,h3/{o,a}> #
110. h1-,h2-,h3-/V > # (see *h1nh3men where the h1C > eC)
120. h1,h2,h3/C-h1,h2,h3-C > # (h1,h2,h3 lost between two Cons.??)
ISSUE with this rule: ballë is derived as *bh2-lo at Demiraj...
130. h1 > e (see *h1nh3men)
h2 > a (brh2g^- < bardhë)
h3 > o (see *prH-wo maybe *prh3-wo > para )
Note:
see *h1nh3men > enmen
see *prH-wo maybe *prh3-wo > para
that indicates the preservation of h1,h2,h3 and their transformation
to e,a,o later....
Other issues:
1. difficult situation with gWrH-i > gurë where seems that H wasn't
lost...
2. or to interpret brh2g^- < bardhë (rh2 > ra > ar -> ok, but what
happens with the lost of h1,h2,h3 between 2 Cons.?)
Thanks for any help here,
Marius
