****GK: As Dan and Piotr have pointed out, "niger" is
a Latin term of doubtful origin meaning "black"
(etc..).

George, until "niger"'s origin remain 'doubtful', your cannot say
that its original meaning was 'black' or any other dark color; or if
initially it referred or not to humans ..in addition without its
etymology you will never know, good enough, the evolution of its
meaning...
Unfortunately, this word didn't contain a PIE root for 'black' or
whatever 'dark' color you want to can be resumed around a 'color'
root...and I strictly talk here only about the etymology of this
word.

Talking now about ideologies, the simple fact that your ideology
is a positive one, will not add to your argumentation more
arguments ...
Unfortunately very often in our days, the positive ideologies
have replaced a solid argumentation (but at least we have learned in
this mode that the negative ones are negative, isn't it? ...maybe
this was the price to be paid...)

Marius

P.S. ...and saying this, I didn't intend at all to say that negative
ideologies have used solid argumentations.
