anlaut) into the labio-dental approximant, so the change is less than in
most other IE languages.<<<
That's Standard
Dutch as spoken in the Netherlands. In Standard Dutch as spoken in Flanders (and
quite a lot Anglo-Saxon sources prefer this to call 'Flemish', for whatever
(wrong) reason), it's still /w/.
