Neither does IE, Eth! Otherwise how do you explain:

*ndHeri "under"
*udnos "of the water"
*ns "us"

Before you post, keep in mind that *H1V- is distinct
from *V- and that syllabic *n is indeed a vowel
according to standard IE theory :)

Even so, *udnos is definitely not **h1udnos and yet
*h1u- is also valid in IE, distinct from *u-.
