But that's what I said! If the weak stem is *h2nas-
with a _true_ *a, then that explains why there is
no *nis-. The *a in this case would be caused by
pre-IE vocalisation of a reduced *h2neh2s- in the
strong cases. This vocalisation of expected **h2nh2s-
could occur just before Syncope.
