No doubt, but to say that the diphthong seen in
"rider" is pronounced /ey/ is false for two reasons:
1. Incorrect IPA symbols used, and 2. No such
pronounciation.

If Pat had simply said "Canadian raising", then
everything would be kosher, but he sadly didn't.
Canadian raising is more subtle than this but it is
of course a fact.
