Archaic Finnish "Kurre" (squirrel): from Germanic?

I came across this in, of all places, a forum for a comic series.

Seeing as Finnish borrowed many Germanic words, mightn't this one be
likewise borrowed? That is, from something like [e]kur[n], a variant
of what's now seen in Norwegian "ekorn"?
