This is overdramatizing the problems. Only the nominatives thugáte:r,
mé:te:r show recessive accent, while the accusatives thugatéra,
me:téra are fully in harmony with Sanskrit duhitáram, ma:táram. The
accent of the nominative is generally, in my opinion persuasively,
credited to the vocative, thúgater, mê:ter.
