Indeed, in Albanian exists *ts-, *dz- as privative prefix, like Latin
dis-, Greek dia-, as has Pokorny noticed in Alb. tshqep > çqep, today
shqep (cf. vesh 'to wear', antonymic <zhvesh>, dialectal forms <desh>,
<çvesh>). From these examples we could deduce that in <desh> we have
the reduction of dvesh > desh (dv > d), until in zhvesh we have
reduction of dzhvesh in zhvesh: dzhv- > zhv-. Before sonorants, prefix
*ts- was voiced in *dz-, which, in some cases, underwent metathesis
*zd-, like in *zdlidh > zglidh 'untie' from PIE *leig'- 'to bind' (cf.
Lat. liga:re 'to bind', Eng. leech from Germanic *li:k-). Same
situation we have in Alb. <zgjedh> 'to choose', antonymic form of
<mbë•ledh> 'to gather', which is derived from prefixed form zg•ledh <
*zdledh. Due to phonotactics of onset in Alb. adjective <i gjatë>
'long' < glatë < *dlo-tos, we have, as Pedersen have done, reconstruct
proto-forms *zdlidh > zglidh and *zdledh > zgledh, pointing out that
in these cases we have to deal with metathetic form of *ts- 'dis-',
through the voicing of this prefix before sonorants. In this manner we
have aproched to the word <gjuhë> derived from attested form <gluha>
and this from reconstructed form *dlo-sk'a:.
