Ablaut vowel in open syllable

I made the ridiculous claim that the ablaut vowel is -e- in open
syllable, now I recall that -o-, and not -e-, is lengthened in open
syllable in Sanskrit, which can be seen in the inflection of the
singular of the perfect. What are the examples of non-lengthening of
-e- in open syllable in Sanskrit?
