Jens will certainly have his own favourites, but if I may suggest
something, Frederik Otto Lindeman's _Introduction to the "Laryngeal
Theory"_ (1987, Oslo: Norwegian University Press) remains today's
"standard" reference. Partly because of the wide scope of the book,
which methodically explores numerous aspects of the laryngeal theory,
some of Lindeman's opinions are bound to be controversial, but most of
the book represents mainstream scholarship on the laryngeal question.
The rather long chapter on the phonology and morphophonology of the
laryngeals (pp. 106-125) in Michael Meier-Brügger's _Indogermanische
Sprachwissenschaft_ (2002, Berlin/New York: de Gruyter) contains a very
competent and up-to-date exposition of the current state of the theory,
with plenty of further references.
