As regard the LINGUISTICS of it, I'm not sure. HOWEVER, a similar idea
has been suggested by quantum physicists - time is only a path through
instants - these instants are universes of themselves. Thus, we would
indeed all be travelling through a continual stream of moments.

Also, the idea of connecting eternity to one - that might also stem
from the idea of wholeness. The idea of the circle - no edges; one
line connected to itself, unending in length.
