They differ: the former [s], the latter [S]. But in northern
German dialects (Low German, e.g. around Hamburg) the latter
is also [s]. And in the Suebian/Alemanian dialect, s before
t is usually pron. [S], e.g. du bischt, er/sie/es ischt;
du muscht. Hence the allusion (accompanied by a Smilie).
