Given the material shared by Albanian and Romanian this inevitably
puts the latter language in the same general area during the time it
was evolving from a Latin dialect to a distinct Romance language and
before it disintegrated into geographically separate branches (Daco-
Romanian, Aromanian etc.). As I argued on earlier occasions, the
further you put the Romanian "Urheimat" from Ohrid, the more
difficult it becomes to make sense of the early history of the
language.
