The
> map is quite accurate from THIS perspective.

*****GK: It's completely inaccurate. Not only because
it ignores the existence of the Gagauzi in Odesa
Region (they have settlements just north of the
Bulgarians there), but primarily because it doesn't
recognize them in Moldova proper, where most of them
actually live, and where they even have an autonomous
administrative district.*****

Anyhow,

*****GK: So what? This map is supposed to render
contemporary linguistic realities. And to repeat, it
falsely suggests that Moldovans are abundantly present
in southern Odesa Region, where they are actually less
numerous than Bulgarians, Ukrainians, and Russians,
and it ignores the large Ukrainian and Russian
enclaves in Moldova, especially but not exclusively
east of the Dnister.*****
