It depends on your point of view. It is just confusing to a student of
modern or Classical Greek to say that aorists without -s- are "sigmatic",
even if - to a linguist - they do show the traces of an earlier-s-. So
whereas we might acknowledge Classical esteila (from present stello:) as a
sigmatic aorist, it is no help to benighted students to call it that. So
I'm not surprised Grammar books don't.
