More pots

Latin has 'potest' (< pote est, says Meillet) "can"
and 'possidet' "owns". How can "be" and "sit" be in the same semantic
relationship to 'pote' "possible"? Does this mean that *s-d-
(?) "sit" is related to *h1-s- "be"?
