Some notes:
Dharman = statute, from the reconstructed PIE root *dher2, meaning to
hold firmly or support
Vrata = ordinance --- related to the Latin 'verbum' and
English 'word' --- thus PIE *were3 -. To speak. Oldest form *wer 1-

It is also interesting that a number of the terms above can be viewed
as correlates to "Law" or "Decree"... the Norns being said to
establish orlog and Fates to make their decrees...
I keep pondering whether the Rta/Asha of the Indo-Iranians was the
correlate of Fate among the European tribes.
