in fact the form "Plovdiv" is first attested only as late as in
the 15-th century. Before that it was called "P@...", "P@...@ldin/
Pop@...", "Pl@...". Could "P@..." be from "Pulpudeva" as well,
or it is from "Philippopolis"?
