As for the 'kvidre' word I blatantly erased Southern German cognate
with qu- in the quote. 'kvist' doesn't have any, as for as know, but
one should forget its relative ON kvisl (Snorri: Tanakvisl) "branch
in a river or sailing route", Dan. Kvissel (several places in
Denmark, i.a. in Odense fjord).
But whether they are original, whatever that would would mean, I
can't say.
