It is not a lie, but it is not simply true either. Sarmatians are
known to have been stationed on Hadrians wall, and are now felt to
have made a contribution to the local gene pool. They are also felt
to have contributed (amongst others) to some of the themes and
styles of what became medieval romance. But Arthur is normally
thought to have been a southerner, who fought about 100 years later
than the action in the film. His name is the subject of endless
speculation. I believe that in the early historical recordings it
was not spelt as Artorius, which is the Latin name given as one
possible source?
