He says,
"Material: Ai. ra/jani:- `Nacht'; gr. érebos 'Dunkel der Unterwelt'
(e-Vorschlag); arm. erek und erekoy 'Abend'; auch Adverb
erek 'gestern'; got. riqis, -izis n. 'Dunkel', nisl. røkkr, -
rs 'Dunkel, Da"mmerung'; hierher vielleicht gr. orphnós 'dunkel'
(*orgWsno-) und toch. A orka"m (*orgWmo-) `Finsternis'; anders oben
S. 334."
On p334 he derives orphnós from 'e:>reb(h)-, o:>rob(h)-' meaning 'of
dark colour', with no mention of _érebos_.
