The old legends tell us that after Chronos detroned his father Uranus, the
good of the starrlit sky, this one withdrawed on an isle. There was a
godess, a good friend of Uranus who hated Chronos for what he did. This one,
this one was the godess of the night, the godess Nix. This godess which
covered her body with the night has married an another god which was the god
of the darkness. That was the god Erebus. Their first two children of Nix &
Erebus have been the god of the never-ending light, the god Eterus and the
godess of the day , the godess Hemera...

So far the story:-))
Now some questions. I will take first the godes Nix which seems to fit with
her name that what she was. The godess of the night. (Latin "nox"/noctis,
Greek "nux", "nuktis" etc).
-the "i" there in Nix should be from what Greek dialect? Dorian, Ionian?
The husband of Nix. That is the good Erebus. Here I have no idea about its
etimology. I just can connect his "being" as the good of the darkness to
Latin "orbus", the "blind" meaning. Again we will have a front-vowel in
Erebus versus a back-vowel in Latin if the connection Erebus-orbus can be
considered as true.

Any ideea about Erebus and its etymology ? Can one see Erebus related to
"orbus"?
