Hello.
I am new to this list, and would like to thank the moderator for
accepting my application. I am a hobbyist, not a scholar, but look
forward to interesting discussions on this site.
At present, I am working on the problem of a number of Persian names
(Aartadukht, Aartemis, and Aartunis)and their connection to the
root "deru / dreu" in PIE, as I know that presently "art" does not
have any connection with "truth" in Persian.
If anybody has any information on:
(a) The Old Persian word or root "art" and whether or not it is
connected with the PIE root "deru / dreu"
(b) These particular names in Persian (in which case please e-mail me
at
emkronoff@... off the list)
(c) Significant work done on the IE roots of Persian (especially
catalogues of words)
