If the Indo-Europeans replaced a wide community of Finno-Ugric
speakers in Northern Europe, one would expect to find at least some
Finno-Ugric loans in Germanic and perhaps Celtic. Does this kind of
evidence exist? What kind of reputation does this idea have in the
community of IE scholars?
