On the other hand, *�euda- is extremely common in Germanic names, and
*�euda-mE:r- of course has attested reflexes (Thietmar, Theudomer, etc.). We
may be dealing with an onomastic calque from Germanic (cf. the earlier
discussions of the etymological ambiguity of names like Ardagast).
