How does one explain the initial p- in Welsh
pawr "pasture"
pori "graze"
supposedly from PIE *peh2- "protect, let graze"? Meid thinks it's a
substrate word in Welsh, which would make it cognate (in Kuhn's
perspective) with the placename Powe in "classical" Nordwestblock
territory.
