With Windows and Internet Explorer at least, set num lock, hold left-
alt down, type 254 on the keypad, and then release the left-alt key.
240 => ð
Subtract 32 for the capital letters, as for normal letters.
Right-alt does the same for most keyboard mappings.
If you use the 'United States - International' keyboard, right-alt-t
(i.e. hold right-alt down, tap 't') gets you thorn.
