I forgot to mention. I would reconstruct Slavic dar7 as an old u-stem
*deh3rus because of the accentuation in Croatian. Derivative verb daro`vati
has accent darújem in present tense which shows that -ov- in darovati
and -u- in darújem is really part of the stem not a sufix as in pso`vati,
psu``je:m (sufix -ov-, not part of the stem, from pas "dog"). The
accentuatian in these kind of verbs differs on whether this -ov- in
infinitive or -u- in present is part of the stem or just a sufix.
