Sound interesting .In Rom. "lãieT" means "person with long and uncombed
hair". This word is a negative denomination too for nomands gypsies. DEX
gives it as derived from "laie". The word "laie" should mean "group of
nomads gypsies", "a group of noisy people". Etym. compare with Polish
"laja"= "pack of dogs"
Should mean in fact "varriegated people"? I thik at the word "laie"=
black with white ( so, varriegated). The word should be in Albanian as
well , the word "laja", but I don't know its meaning.

Sortly said, the people called for working should have be seen as a mob
of varriegated people?
