That's what bothered me. The Romanian simple perfect, for this word

eu zisei
tu ziseºi
el/ea zise
noi ziserãm
voi ziserãþi
ei/ele ziserã

has been heavily remodelled. I understand the stress is on the /e/,
so we might have the development dí:xi: > *zípsi >, by analogy,
*zipséi > ziséi. If so, I would say the past participle also
derived from the simple perfect, though obviously not by any sound
law.
