What a motley grouping! Venetic and Messapic are imperfectly documented,
but enough has survived to rule out their close relationship with
Albanian (and with each other!) Venetic seems to be closer to Italic
than to anything else. Macedonian, known from glosses and proper names,
was most likely related to Greek. Thracian was a Satem language, like
Albanian, but I've already pointed out that it shows very different
developments (e.g. *k^W > Proto-Albanian *c^, Thracian <sb>).
