Alb. <trastë> 'bag' has variant in Geg dialect <strajcë> and,
according to some idioms, like: me kokë në trastë/ me krye në
strajcë 'to do something at the risk of one's life', suggests that
it is very old word, probably related to PIE *terh- 'to cross over,
pass through, overcome'. Its suffixed zero-grade form *tr.(h)-ilo,
derives <trill> 'whim, fancy, freak' (cf. Eng. <thrill>, <nostril>).
Some variants of this root are also *trah-, which extened in suffix -
ti of making abstract nouns, yilds probably <tras>, further suffixed
in -ta: > trastë.
