Yes, well I've seen *[wr?-m] elsewhere but given the meaning of "copper",
not just metal in general, so I wasn't sure whether /eru:/ would derive from
it. Apparently there is also Old Assyrian /werium/. I'm not sure what other
attestations there would be of *weri?um offhand however. I've never
chanced across any information on it. It's aggravating.

Don't you mean "bronze"? Isn't the word for "copper" /nekhoshet/?
