Alex, you're stirring up a lot of ado about nothing again. -nz- in
substratal words comes from earlier *-n3- [-ndz-] from various sources,
including *-ndj- (as in the 'foal' etymon), but _never_ from *-ns-. Late
Latin words with [-ndj-] show the same development. <frunzã> clearly
derives from something with *-ndj- in it, and there no earthly reason to
question the derivation from <frons>/<frondis> 'leaf, foliage' via
V.Lat. *frondia.
