To Marius and George:

I am getting tired of debating about the accent. It has no purpose. But if
you want to prove that Rus. korocˇun7 comes via Hungarian first you have to
prove why Russian has -u- instead of Hung. -o- (which is short!) and why
Russian has -n7 instead of -nj6 if from Hung. palatal -ny#? We can leave the
akanie aside for now as unclear (but it is not very clear why Old Russian
would have -oro- for Hung. -ará- and not -ora- for instance).
My point is that, if we leave the accent aside, it is still not possible
phonologically to account for Russian korocˇun7 to be a loan from Hungarian.
And besides that, you have to prove that there are such loans from Hungarian
in Russian in those days.
I remind you, if we consider Russian korocˇun7 as an original Slavic word
form Proto-Slavic *korcˇun7 we have no problems whatsoever. Phonological
correspondence is *perfect*, accentual correspondence is *perfect*.
I think mr Occam is on my side :-) Sorry, guys.
