Hi,
My name is Loreto O. Bagio, a southern Islander with great
infatuation about so many things Indo-European.
I've been eavesdropping for quite a while now on Cybalist and I
really have to say that you're all admirable.
Of course I have to greet you a belated Merry christmas and Happy
Ninos Inocentes today (part of our Hispanic tradition).
Actually my joining is in timing with such tradition. We are all
innocent at one thing or another. The reason for these discussions
and these exchanges.
I have so many questions mainly on Spanish words. Can anyone give me
the story or etymology of the word "tripulante" for ship's crew? It
seems to me that it came from Gk. 'tripolis' or 'three cities'. But
which 'three cities'?
Thanks for any response.
Loreto
