"The net" is hardly a fountain of wisdom. Lots of kooks do their thing
out there. Can you direct me to any reliable source that supports the
idea that a cosmic disaster connected with the Pleiades ever affected
our planet?

"The constellation of Taurus" is a collection of stars that happen to be
located in the same general direction, as seen from Earth. There's no
cause-and-effect relationship between the Pleiades and meteor showers,
no matter what direction the latter come from.

Piotr
